The print quality is bad

Most of our documents are available as Digital PDFs. This means that they can only be accessed through our https://standards.nimonik.com/


They cannot be downloaded, but we do allow you to print a hard copy. We do offer downloadable versions of our library through our multi-user subscription service. If you would like to learn more, send us an formal inquiry to standards@nimonik.com. One of our accounts manager will get back to you as soon as possible. 


If you want to print your document, follow these steps carefully:


First, lets get to your library. If you are logged in, you should see a cogwheel on the top right corner.




Clicking on this icon will always take you to your library. Once in your library, you should see a list of your documents with the following icons:




The eyeball lets you view the searchable digital version of your standard through the browser, and printer lets you print. Clicking on the printer will prompt you with an agreement. Make sure you are using Microsoft Edge


After you accept the condition, your document should pull up in a new window. Some standards take longer to load depending on the file size and network speed.

When the document is loaded, tere should be three dots on the top right hand corner of the document preview screen. (This is not the window screen).






It should look something like this zoomed out:





You should get a drop down with the "Print this file" option. Go through the prompts and print your document like normal.


Known print issues and solutions


1. International Standards


Some international documents need to be printed on A4 paper. These documents include BSI, DIN, ISO, and CSA. If you do not have the ability to print in A4 format and need a paper copy of your document, you can order one directly from the story. Most of our orders ship within 2 business days.


2. Printing to PDF 


Our store does not support print to PDF. We will not be supporting print to PDF. As a result, this option will produce blurry PDFs. We are not responcible for unsoported features. 


3.Print stops half way through


If you find that your document stops printing halfway through, try switching browsers. Chrome and Firefox have been known to cause issues with both quality and inclomplete jobs. 


4.Printing to paper is blurry


Try switching to Microsoft Edge. Chrome and Firefox can produce blurry pdfs. 


5. I've tried everything but the document is still blurry


If all else fails, it could be a network issue or a plugin interfering with the process. We are not responcible for network issues. Printing is a curtesy we offer to our customers who buy our digital pdfs, but be aware that you are buying the licence to view the document on our site. If you would like a physical copy mailed, we have physical copies available for sale.
